A message from President Perry Fuchs

Hello Sisters and Brothers of the Plainedge Federation of Teachers! I hope this email finds you all doing well and enjoying the holiday season. As always, I am extremely impressed and humbled by the tremendous work that you do to educate the students of Plainedge. I am very excited to announce that the PFT's Executive Council has decided to invest in our union's communications and have a series of new communication tools planned. The first is this email we are calling The Edge - The official email for the hardworking members of the Plainedge Federation of Teachers.

We will be sending this email to the membership on a regular basis with upcoming events, reports on the charity work we do, political action, bargaining updates, and reminders of upcoming meetings and social outings.  We have retained UCOMM Communications to assist us in this endeavor. UCOMM works with 30 local unions and labor councils in the Northeast including the Levittown United Teachers, Bellport Teachers Association, Bay Shore Classroom Teachers and Long Island Teachers to name a few. Working with our PFT leadership team, UCOMM is going to add even more features to our mobile friendly website. Our new and improved mobile friendly website will build on our member photo and video galleries, social networking sharing options, union news feeds, newsletter submission forms, events listings, constantly updated union news and an easy to use navigation menu bar. We are also developing a shortcut-like mobile app so you can stay connected with your union when on the go.

In the meantime, make sure you get your fellow PFT members who did not receive this email to contact us with their personal email at perrytau23@gmail.com or sign up directly on our website.

On behalf of the entire PFT leadership team, I would like to wish all of our members and their families a very Happy and Healthy Holiday season! I look forward to seeing you all at some great PFT events in the new year!! In solidarity.
