Good Afternoon Sisters and Brothers of the PFT,

I hope all of our members had a memorable and enjoyable first week of school. It was great to see the children so happy to be back and our educators excited for another amazing school year! As we all get ready to enjoy this Labor Day Weekend, let us not forget all the hard working Americans who have fought, and even died, for all the rights we benefit from in the workplace. This weekend is our holiday; it symbolizes the important role that unions, such as the PFT, have played in establishing safe working conditions, high standards of living, and a voice in the workplace throughout our great country.

Therefore, I wish all of our PFT members a very well-deserved, restful weekend as we celebrate the accomplishments of the labor movement in the USA. To our sisters and brothers celebrating the Jewish New Year, a Shana Tova to all! In solidarity.
